What if That de rossi guy plays for the USA national team? How much would he improve the US team?extension

Giuseppe Rossi, not de Rossi. de rossi plays for AS Roma and is a true blue italian.

G.Rossi is a fantastic young talent and i think man utd made a mistake in selling him. from what i've seen he is a natural goalscorer and has pretty impressive footwork too! i have a feeling he'll turn into a world class player one day, IF he is given the chance to play first team football week in week out. Any player would want to play for Italy rather than USA if given a chance. The possibility of winning the world cup is much much higher. Unless the italian FA clearly states that Rossi will never make it to the national team [which is highly impossible], he might then choose USA to get a taste of what it feels like to play on the international stage. But i doubt this will happen.

One day, he WILL play for the Italy national team. Watch this space.

ooPs.. i realise i was off-topic. what IF rossi does play for USA? will he improve the US team?

Yes. He will, just like many other great footballers. Like Maradona for Argentina, Zidane for France, Figo for Portugal or Pele for Brazil, all great players have a certain degree of influence on the team, how they play and how often they win.

But there is only so much an individual player can do for the team. He might be able to score a goal for the team, but it's useless if the team leaks in 2 goals. He might be able to stop the opponent from scoring, but he can't do anything about his own team not scoring. He might produce an out-of-this-world pass, but it comes to nothing if his team-mate doesn't make use of such pass to score the crucial goal. Get what i'm trying to say? All great teams have a great player or two. But all great players need a great team.

So no matter how much talent Rossi has, he can only do that much for USA. Yes, he can improve the team, especially the team's ability to score goals and threaten the opponent's defenders. Yes, he will improve the overall quality of the team. But one man is not enough to make the entire team great, or world cup potentials. Let's say Adu and Rossi combine for the USA, the chances of winning trophies increases. Add on Marcus Beasley, Brian McBride and Donovan and again USA's World Cup chances increases!

Conclusion:

Rossi can make a difference to the USA team, no doubt. But the difference will not be very much.

he wont play for the usa unless italy dosent want him
Rossi has vowed to play for the Azzuri than the US. Unless the Italians do not want him, he may / may not join the Americans in the team due to his high expectations. Who knows whether he will play in the MLS before retirement.

Gees.....

Cheers :)
the usa team wouldnt do any better with him, especially with beckham sandbagging, team usa needs far more help before they can improve
Come on guys! We need all of the positive thinking we can get. Rossi is awesome and almost any of the European players will help the MLS. The bottom line is always money and the MLS seems to have it right now. Let us hope that the MLS can buy some great players and bring some attention to the beautiful game in the USA. It seems to be working with Beckham.
rossi would definitely help the national team they are lacking a legitimate striker right now and he could definitely fill that role
