Type K-Lite codec pack, into your browser. then download the pack, it does just about everything.

Depending on what program you are using to play DVD's - you may need to download a codec or something to make it work correctly.

Check the audio settings of the program that is playing your DVD - it might be set to output digital audio (eg. Dolby Digital) and your sound setup might not be able to handle that, so select Dolby Surround etc that will be 'downmixed' for your speakers
Ithink you should buy a dvd R-W drive
