How do they determine who plays who in the second round of the NHL playoffs?

Is it based on how they placed in the regular season like the first round is?

Do they re-seed, and if so, how?

Thanks. I'm just trying to see who might play who later on.

ok well its almost like how they determine the first round matchups!!! its hard to explain so ill give an example:

buffalo

new york

new jersey

tampa bay

atlanta

new york R

ottawa

pittsburgh

well say that these teams won the first round:

1.buffalo

2.new jersey

3.atlanta

4.pittsburgh

now its just like the season standings, first plays with last and 2nd plays with 3rd

so it would be:

Buffalo

Pittsburgh

New Jersey

Atlanta

It is based on who beats who (whom?) in the first round.
First round winners still are seeded. Team seeded highest plays team seeded lowest and then the other two meat up with the higher seed getting home ice advantage. An eighth seed will never get 4 home games in a series.
the highest remaining seed plays the lowest remaining seed. the middle two play each other. the same determines home ice advantage.

so if detroit beats calgary, minnesota beats anaheim, sharks beat predators, and stars beat canucks...then

detroit plays minnesota and stars play sharks.
who ever wins the first round plays the other first round winners
